The Prince is Coming…

Something rather special is beginning to take shape in the Thespis studios.

We are delighted to announce that The Prince of Egypt will become one of our major new complete-show costume collections for 2027.

Following months of planning and research, work is now moving forward on a complete production wardrobe for schools, colleges, musical societies and theatre companies staging this spectacular musical.

And although we're keeping a few details under wraps for the moment, we can reveal that discussions are already taking place with potential launch productions for 2027.

A Complete Prince of Egypt Costume Collection

As with our major Thespis collections, The Prince of Egypt is being developed as a complete-show costume package, covering principal characters and the ensemble rather than simply a selection of individual costumes.

The collection is being designed to include principal and ensemble costumes, footwear and accessories, creating a consistent visual identity across the whole production.

From the grandeur of Ancient Egypt and the royal court to the contrasting worlds of the Hebrew people and Midian, this is a production with enormous possibilities for colour, texture, scale and movement.

And that's exactly the sort of challenge we enjoy.

Designed for Real Theatre

After more than 18 years of supplying complete productions throughout the UK, Ireland and Europe, we've learned that theatrical costumes need to do much more than look impressive on a hanger.

They need to work under stage lighting, allow performers to move, cope with quick changes and multiple performances, and still create a powerful overall stage picture.

That experience is going into the new Prince of Egypt collection from the very beginning.

As always, costumes will be supplied on hangers in named garment bags, fully barcoded and organised for individual performers, with detailed costume information to make life considerably easier for the wardrobe team.

Planning The Prince of Egypt for 2027?

We are now welcoming early enquiries for The Prince of Egypt costume hire for 2027 and beyond.

With discussions already underway regarding some of the first productions to use the collection, we would encourage groups considering the show to contact us early with their production dates, venue, location and approximate cast size.

If you're considering The Prince of Egypt for 2027, we'd love to hear from you. Early enquiries are already being taken, even where dates and cast numbers are still provisional.

There's considerably more to reveal over the coming months.
